See the twin harbours, volcanic peaks and cityscape spread below you.
We take off from our base at North Shore Airfield and head south tracking the picturesque bays of Auckland’s North Shore. Passing historic North Head with its defence forts and tunnels, we then proceed up the Waitemata Harbour. Enjoy unique views of the harbour bridge as we fly over it, and then begin our circle of the city, taking in Westhaven marina, and the viaduct harbour. Enjoy a unique view of Wynyard Quarter, Victoria Park and out to Mt Eden and Eden Park – Auckland’s hallowed rugby stadium, and home of the All Blacks’ world cup victory in the 2011 Rugby World Cup. We navigate around the Sky Tower before heading east over the Auckland domain, museum and eastern beaches. You’ll take in many of Auckland’s 55 volcanos including Rangitoto, Auckland’s youngest and largest. Admire this natural reserve from above, and note the black lava flows from the cone. We return to base heading up the northern coastline with views over Takapuna Beach, Lake Pupuke and more of this scenic coast.
