Meet the Team
Paul
Director, Pilot
CPL
With a long career in shipping, Paul took up flying as a hobby ten years ago. Soon after gaining his private pilot licence Paul imported his first aircraft, a Cessna 152 aerobat MDO. As time has progressed, Paul and his wife Anna have travelled all over NZ in MDO, and Paul has gone on to gain his commercial pilots licence. As well as expanding his flying experience, Paul’s aircraft fleet has also continued to grow with a total of six aircraft, three of which are operated by Flight Hauraki.
Paul’s passion for aviation goes far beyond owning and operating a number of different aircraft. Paul is happiest while sharing his enthusiasm for flying with others while sitting in the left seat at 2000 feet.
William
Senior Pilot
William is our senior pilot and brings a wealth of local and international experience to the team. One of his first memories of flying was going to Great Barrier Island with his father in the back of a Piper Cub and he hasn’t looked back. He started working towards his fixed-wing pilot’s license at the age of 16, and has done the majority of his flying around the Upper North Island, gathering a vast knowledge of the surrounding areas.
William has spent a number of years working overseas in IT. During this time he continued his love for aviation and was lucky enough to gain experience flying in places such as The Rockies in Aspen, South Florida and The Bahamas. On his return to New Zealand he decided to further his qualifications in aviation and completed his Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
When William is not in the air you can find him working as a Data Warehousing Consultant, and whenever possible he loves to get out on his yacht. He also enjoys diving and recently got involved in multi-sport.
